Bachata
Bachata has a dense history attached to the countryside of the Dominican Republic during the 1960's. While the underlying themes of Bachata dance and the accompanying melody typically surround a romantic subject, it can also ben associated with sadness and heartache. Bachata dance consists of certain simple steps that creat a back and forth as well as a sideway motion. It can be distinguished by the distinctive and sensuous body movements. The dance is a four-step beat achieved with a walking Cuban hip motion, and a unique 'pop'.
