So we're halfway through the year and we decided we might shake things up, so for the first time in 3 years we are moving our Salsa classes to a Monday night!  Start your week with one of our Salsa classes to get you fired up.

Brazilian Wednesdays
Liven up the middle of your week with some sensual zouk and red hot samba!  Our Zouk classes are getting bigger and bigger and it’s a great way to unwind.  We are also proud to present Brazilian Samba classes.  Ladies you will be in for a workout so get ready to shake that booty!

Zouk Performance Course
After the success of our first ever Zouk student performance team (which performed at the DouDoule Latin Dance Camp to great reviews), we're giving you the opportunity to be part of our new performance routine. Learn a smooth beautiful routine with all the moves you’ve learnt in your Zouk classes. 
Salsa 2 Performance Course
If you’ve completed our Salsa 1 and are currently part of our Salsa 2 course (or have recently completed the course) and feel like a bit of a challenge come and be part of Spin City’s first Salsa 2 Performance Team. This routine will help you immensely with putting all the moves you've learnt in class into a stylish routine and give you the confidence to perform in front of your peers.  These performance teams are also great fun and a chance to get to know everyone in the Spin City family!



Steamy Bachata Performance Course
Get ready to heat things up with this performance!  This routine choreographed by Sharon in her signature Bachata style is sure to turn heads!  Be prepared to show off your new moves in a performance in front of your peers, along with showing off on the social dance floor!  This course is not to be missed!





Spinning
Back by popular demand, Sharon’s spinning classes are world reknowned.  Learn all the techniques to be a great spinner!  This class always gets fully booked so register early to avoid disappointment.




Brazilian Samba
Ladies get ready to shake your booty! A class where you will learn the basic techniques for Samba and spend the hour shaking it to music.  This class is a fantastic workout, great fun with lots of giggles guaranteed!

We have some exciting events coming up at Spin City....  This weekend we have Gaspar Ribeiro visiting from Brisbane to take some special Zouk workshops.  Gaspar was born and raised in Rio De Janiero, Brasil and has more than 20 years experience in Brasilia Dance, in particular Zouk Lambada, developing his own unique style called ”Zouk Evolution.”

Spin City is also very excited to be hosting Zouk Master - PASTY - from the Netherlands.  Currently Pasty teaches and performs under his own name 'Pasty Dance' and the larger dance schools in the Netherlands, and is a famous face both in the Salsa and Zouk scene. He is a highly requested dancer and teacher giving classes and performances all across the country and abroad.  He will be holding workshops at Spin City on Sunday July 25th.

April has started off with a BANG for the Spin City Crew.  To recap - SCD has been travel-crazy teaching, performing, representing and dancing up a storm in March/April at:

Adelaide Salsa Festival (26 - 28 March)
Bali Salsa Festival (1 - 5 April)

They were both absolutely amazing trips with the Spin City teachers, performers and students enjoying every aspect of the whirlwind salsa parties, workshops and more! Bali was our first international trip of the year and was a particularly amazing one – with soaking in the Balinese culture and ways, surf and sun, crazy motorbike rides, eating in the middle of rice paddies, it was a week to remember. Making us especially proud was the debuts of our Chinois and Demure routines internationally and receiving amazing feedback about them both! Plus, Sharon taught her Ladies Only “Femininity, Sensuality and Confidence on the Dancefloor” workshop to great acclaim. Lots of photos and videos of the events are available on our Facebook page!

March and April are such exciting months for SCD!   To recap - In March we celebrated with a fabulous Superheroes party, our 3rd Anniversary! The anniversary party was a blast, with 70% of people going out in shiny lycra and intriguing Super hero personas! So much fun! March also held the amazing Melbourne Latin Festival with international guests, national artists and all of Melbourne celebrating the joyful rhythms of latin dance. It was an amazing weekend, with SCD participating in 3 performances, Sharon teaching 2 workshops and of course the dancing, OH the dancing!

February and March are going to be busy months at SCD.  We have Bachata Workshops 27 & 28th Feb with Sky and Leonardo, see our EVENTS page for more details.  Latin 247 is on at Brunswick Town Hall Saturday 20th Feb.  Sunday March 7th (Labour Day is Monday) is the SCD Anniversary Party with a Superheroes theme, so start searching for your costume now!  Plus heaps of classes and workshops, more rehearsals, performance/competition training, new choreo and more!  Don't forget the Australian Salsa Solo Competition is approaching along with Victorian Salsa Titles.  So if you're interested in being involved talk to Sharon or one of our instructors now!

8th March marks the start of Term 2.  The new exciting class schedule will be released soon, so keep your eye on the website!

January is zipping past and after months of hard training, we now find ourselves with the Sydney Salsa Congress upon us.  Both of our performance teams will be flying up to Sydney next Thursday to strut their stuff on the stage in front of thousands - good luck everyone!  But before we hit the Sydney Salsa Scene we'll be treated to a special visit from the world famous Supermario.  He'll be running workshops at the studio this Saturday, and will be out and about social dancing in Melbourne over the weekend.  So don't miss out on this fantastic opportunity to rub shoulders with one of the worlds best salsa leads.
